The recipe for these pineapple citrus ginger juice shots is our go to pick-me-up juice for the colder months! Made using an at-home juicer with fresh pineapple, oranges or tangerines, lemon, ginger, and turmeric. It is bright, refreshing, and easy to make in a big batch to enjoy throughout the week!
The best homemade juice shots
These pineapple citrus ginger juice shots are our main juicing jam around here, especially during the winter months when we’re craving something bright and fresh that takes advantage of all the ripe citrus.
We actually purchased our first juicer just so we could make these juice shots!
Juice shots had become a regular part of our weekly grocery haul, and while convenient, they are also pretty expensive. So we decided it would be a good investment to start making them ourselves, and we’ve never looked back!
This is the juicer that we decided on. It’s relatively inexpensive, slow masticating (meaning it doesn’t heat up when it extracts the juice), and easy to clean. We’ve had it for several years now and it has held up great!
Fresh juice shots beat store bought any day and this recipe makes enough juice to last throughout the week for two people.
I think you’re going to love them just as much as we do!

How to make juice shots at home
The most time consuming part of this juice recipe is preparing the ingredients for juicing.
This involves washing and cutting each ingredient as needed so it will fit into the feeding tube of your juicer.
(If you’re already ready to get started, scroll all the way down to the bottom for the full recipe!)
Here’s the step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Prep all fresh ingredients
If you’re starting with a whole pineapple, remove the rind and cut it into small enough pieces to fit through your juicer.
Peel or cut away the peel of the oranges and separate (or cut) into segments. If you want to reduce any bitter flavor that may be passed on from the pith of the orange I recommend removing as much of it as you can.
Cut the peel off the lemons the same way as the oranges and cut into quarters.
Wash and thinly slice the ginger and turmeric.
Step 2: Make your juice
Pass all of the ingredients through your juicer.
Transfer juice to a large sealed pitcher or mason jar and store in the refrigerator. You can also divide the wellness shots into individual sized serving jars before refrigerating for convenience throughout the week!
Step 3: Serve and enjoy!
Top a small glass of this juice with a crack or two of black pepper and enjoy!
Handle turmeric carefully
When you’re handling turmeric make sure to watch out for stains. The bright orange hue can easily stain your fingers, fingernails, dish towels, counters and cutting boards.
You may want to wear gloves if you’re worried about staining your hands and use dish towels you don’t mind getting stained!
The amount of turmeric in this juice likely won’t cause much of an issue but it’s good to know before you start.

Description
The recipe for these pineapple citrus ginger juice shots is our go to pick-me-up juice for the colder months! Made using an at-home juicer with fresh pineapple, oranges or tangerines, lemon, ginger, and turmeric. It is bright, refreshing, and easy to make in a big batch to enjoy throughout the week!
Ingredients
- 4 large oranges, or about 8 tangerines
- 1 large pineapple, cut into small pieces – about 5 cups worth
- 4 lemons
- 1/4 cup fresh turmeric, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- black pepper
Instructions
- Start by prepping the ingredients for the juice.
-
If you’re using a whole pineapple, cut it into small enough pieces to fit through the feeding tube. This is a good tutorial for how to cut pineapple – but for this juice recipe you don’t need to cut out the core like they demonstrate in step 7. The core of a pineapple actually contains a high concentration of the enzyme Bromelain and is beneficial to juice.
-
Peel or cut away the peel of the oranges, and separate or cut into segments. If you want to reduce any bitter flavor that may be passed on from the pith of the orange I recommend cutting the peel away like in this tutorial video.
-
Cut the peel off the lemons just like the oranges and cut into quarters.
-
Wash and thinly slice ginger and turmeric.
-
Pass all of the ingredients through your juicer. Transfer juice to a large sealed pitcher or mason jar and store in the refrigerator. You can also divide the wellness shots into individual sized serving jars before refrigerating for convenience throughout the week!
-
Top a small glass of this juice with a crack or two of black pepper and enjoy!
Notes
This juice easily lasts for about 1 week in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
When you’re handling turmeric make sure to watch out for stains. The bright orange hue can easily stain your fingers, fingernails, dish towels, counters and cutting boards. You may want to wear gloves if you’re worried about staining your hands and use dish towels you don’t mind getting stained. The amount of turmeric in this juice likely won’t cause much of an issue but it’s good to know before you start!

So true! We need all the immune boosting we can get. The ginger and lemon are punchy but the sweetness of the citrus and the pineapple bring it all together so nicely 🙂 I do hope you enjoy them!
