Description

The recipe for these pineapple citrus ginger juice shots is our go to pick-me-up juice for the colder months! Made using an at-home juicer with fresh pineapple, oranges or tangerines, lemon, ginger, and turmeric. It is bright, refreshing, and easy to make in a big batch to enjoy throughout the week!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large oranges, or about 8 tangerines
  • 1 large pineapple, cut into small pieces – about 5 cups worth
  • 4 lemons
  • 1/4 cup fresh turmeric, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh ginger, thinly sliced
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Start by prepping the ingredients for the juice.
  2. If you’re using a whole pineapple, cut it into small enough pieces to fit through the feeding tube. This is a good tutorial for how to cut pineapple – but for this juice recipe you don’t need to cut out the core like they demonstrate in step 7. The core of a pineapple actually contains a high concentration of the enzyme Bromelain and is beneficial to juice.

  3. Peel or cut away the peel of the oranges, and separate or cut into segments. If you want to reduce any bitter flavor that may be passed on from the pith of the orange I recommend cutting the peel away like in this tutorial video.

  4. Cut the peel off the lemons just like the oranges and cut into quarters.

  5. Wash and thinly slice ginger and turmeric.

  6. Pass all of the ingredients through your juicer. Transfer juice to a large sealed pitcher or mason jar and store in the refrigerator. You can also divide the wellness shots into individual sized serving jars before refrigerating for convenience throughout the week!

  7. Top a small glass of this juice with a crack or two of black pepper and enjoy!

Notes

This juice easily lasts for about 1 week in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

When you’re handling turmeric make sure to watch out for stains. The bright orange hue can easily stain your fingers, fingernails, dish towels, counters and cutting boards. You may want to wear gloves if you’re worried about staining your hands and use dish towels you don’t mind getting stained. The amount of turmeric in this juice likely won’t cause much of an issue but it’s good to know before you start!
