This 5-minute blended citrus juice is an easy to make homemade whole fruit juice that is perfect for citrus season! Made with tangerines, lemon, lime, ginger, honey (optional), and optional turmeric. No juicer required and naturally sweetened!
This time of year, we love leaning into this blended citrus juice to enjoy all of the oranges, tangerines, and lemons that are so super juicy and fresh.
And citrus is an amazing fruit to use to make juice in the blender instead of in a juicer!
Because it’s whipped up with lots of whole citrus (including very tart lemons and limes) it is not the sweetest citrus juice you’ve ever had. BUT! You can sweeten it to taste with honey, or a little bit of maple syrup to your preference.
Why you’ll love this citrus juice
It is:
- Fresh & vibrant
- Made without a juicer!
- Refreshing
- Easy to make
- So yummy!
Ingredients
This winter citrus juice is made with 3 types of citrus, ginger, and turmeric. You can modify the type of citrus used based on what you have on hand, and sweeten it up to your taste with a little bit of honey.
(If you’re already ready to get started, scroll all the way down to the bottom for the full recipe!)
Here’s exactly what you need to make this recipe:
- Tangerines – Tangerines, mandarins, clementines, OR even small oranges will all work for this juice. Feel free to customize it based on what you have on hand!
- Lemon
- Lime – If you’re making this recipe without the honey, I recommend leaving out the lime to take off a bit of the sour edge.
- Ginger – Totally optional if it’s not your thing, but it does add a nice zing!
- Turmeric – Another optional ingredient. We add it maybe 50% of the time we make this juice. It doesn’t add a lot of flavor, so choice is up to you!
- Real sea salt
- Black pepper
- Honey – Because this juice is made with lots of whole citrus (including very tart lemons and limes) it is not the sweetest citrus juice. You can sweeten it to taste with honey, or a little bit of maple syrup.
- Water – Just enough for everything to blend together smoothly.
How to make this citrus juice in the blender
All you need to make this juice recipe is the ingredients listed above, and a blender.
Here’s the step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients
Peel the tangerines or oranges, and cut the peel away from the lemon and lime. If you’re using a high speed blender like a Vitamix all the fruit can be kept whole. Otherwise, you may want to cut it into smaller pieces.
Peel and thinly slice the ginger, and gather the other ingredients.
Step 2: Blend everything in the blender
Add all ingredients (tangerines, lemon, lime, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, sea salt, honey – if using, and water) to the blender. Blend on high until smooth and no pieces of fruit or ginger remain.
Step 3: Serve or store
This recipe makes about 3 cups worth of juice. Either serve it immediately or store it in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy!
Can a blender really make juice?
Absolutely! This juice may be on the more pulp heavy side than store bought orange juice, but making it in the blender 100% works.
We also have a recipe for a blender green juice that takes a little more effort (it should be strained after blending) – but is equally delicious and absolutely refreshing.

Why do they say extractors (ninja) are better at retaining the molecules?Extractors supposedly blend into smaller pieces so all the minerals can be digested. Are we loosing some of the minerals when we throw out the pulp?
Nyssa Tanner says
Hi Gregory! I’m not sure about minerals (that would be a good question for a nutritionist), but keeping the pulp definitely helps retain fiber 🙂 – Nyssa

Everyone should make this… EVERYDAY! This recipe is so simple, but really packs a punch. The juice texture is perfect and I actually enjoyed the tartness of the citrus.. No honey for me this time around! I felt a surge of energy immediately and know my immune system was saying thank you, haha. Highly recommend!

Hi nyssa! I have never tried something like this before. I rarely drink on because it gives me stomach aches. This recipe makes sense though, and all the ingredients were unprocessed and fresh. It tasted good and I will see how I feel in the next few days! Flu season is pretty much here, and it is getting cooler and wetter in the PNW, so I want to be prepared! This juice is for sure gonna keep me afloat!
Nyssa Tanner says
Yes it’s kind of half smoothie half fresh fruit juice. I hope that you enjoy it and that it helps keep you feeling healthy through the colder months 🙂 XO
