There’s nothing as perfect as frozen pineapple margaritas on a sunny day! This recipe is made with real pineapple, pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, blanco tequila, and a touch of natural sweetener. Totally refreshing and perfectly sweet-tart! Vegan, gluten free, and naturally sweetened.
I love making homemade cocktails!
After drinking one too many overly sweet + lackluster margaritas, I decided to fine tune our “from scratch” recipe so we could sip our version of a perfect marg at home.
Home bartending can seem so intimidating but once you get started the possibilities are endless. Some of our favorites right now besides this margarita are the tropical rum based Jungle Bird & this refreshing Orange Campari Vodka Sour!
This version of a pineapple margarita is equally delicious as our other current favorites. It is frozen, and made with only real fruit juices – no triple sec or cointreau required.
Below I also cover how to make this pineapple margarita for one person or for a crowd!
Why you’ll love these frozen pineapple margaritas
They are:
- Refreshing
- Naturally sweetened
- Perfectly sweet tart
- Citrusy
- Juicy
- Easy to make
- SO delicious!
Frozen pineapple margarita ingredients
This easy pineapple margarita is made using only real fruit juices, real pineapple, and natural sweetener. No margarita mix required!
- Frozen pineapple – Frozen pineapple helps give this margarita an excellent frozen texture. If you’re hoping to use fresh pineapple, or even canned pineapple, just fully freeze it before you begin.
- Ice – Along with the frozen pineapple a bit of additional ice helps with the best frozen texture.
- Pineapple juice – For some extra sweet pineapple-y flavor.
- Lime juice – Fresh lime juice for that perfect zippy margarita flavor!
- Orange juice – Fresh orange juice sits in here instead of an orange liqueur like triple sec or cointreau. It also adds a burst of juicy citrus flavor!
- Natural sweetener – Honey, maple syrup, or agave will all work in this cocktail recipe. You could also omit any added sweetener for a less sweet version of this drink.
- Tequila – A mid range blanco tequila is our first choice when we make homemade margaritas. I give some specific recommendations for the best tequila to use in the section below!
- Chili salt rim – This margarita is delicious served with a chili salt rim if you’re into that! You can use tajin or the chili lime salt from Trader Joe’s. Otherwise, feel free to omit it or use regular kosher salt instead.
The best tequila for a pineapple margarita
We love to use a mid range blanco tequila for our homemade margaritas.
