this pretty cup of blended (yes that’s right, I said blended! no fancy juicer required) citrus juice with ginger and turmeric is here to perk up your post-thanksgiving vibes. because inevitably the moment arrives after the day of indulgence when we are still feel super happy and grateful for all the food + fun but you’re also very much ready for something with a little more vibrance and zing.
and don’t forget that our immune systems are going through the first big test of the season right now. as the temperature is dipping really low outside (32 degrees seattle?!) and our stress levels are probably a teensy bit higher then they were when we were soaking up the last of that late summer sun, it’s important to remember to give our bodies a little extra love.
so why not give your body a boost with some satsuma, lime, lemon, ginger, honey and turmeric GOODNESS?!
with the addition of the whole lemon and lime it’s not the sweetest citrus juice on the block. although you could certainly replace one or both with another satsuma or try adding a little more honey if you want something that tastes more like a traditional brekkie juice, but personally I kind of enjoy the break from super sweet flavors.
I have only tested this recipe with my high speed vitamix, so I’m not sure what the results would be with a regular blender, but if you’re going to give it a go I would recommend blending for a little extra time and maybe straining after depending on how it turns out. even with the vitamix you will end up with a little pulp, but not anything that would get in the way of enjoying this vitamin C and anti-inflammatory bomb.
so now that you know what you kind of awesome blended drinks you can make with just a few ingredients you probably already have on hand, may this healthful citrus tonic carry you into the first week of december feeling like the glowing human that you are!
did you make this recipe? I would love to know how it turned out! you can leave me a comment below, or snap a picture and post it to instagram with the hashtag #nyssaskitchen! xo

looks very refreshing, I’ll definitely be trying it out. It should be effortless to make with my new citrus juicer, takes seconds to get all of the juice out of a citrus fruit.

Hi, love this recipe! We just got fresh citrus from our friends farm, so this recipe came at a perfect time. We modified by adding a pinch a black pepper & 2 tsp of sunflower oil to get max benefit of the turmeric & Ginger. One could also use a mild tasting olive oil. We also didn’t add ice so the drink could easily be digested. Thanks again for this delish drink!

Hi Laurie! So glad you love it! fresh citrus really is the best. great point about adding some fat – it helps with the vitamin C absorption. I sometimes add a scoop of coconut oil, too 🙂 thanks for the comments + for following along!
